  1. +Luke Newman I would imagine that general fraud laws would cover the situation if no contract was involved. Let's say you went to a store to buy laundry detergent and when you got home you found apple juice in the bottle. If the store refused to replace the product or refund your money, you could sue them for fraud even though there's no contract between you and the store.

  2. Even though the video didn't mention it, I'd guess that the "scandal" was the suspicion that the contestant had inside information.
