The embargo is also hypocritical in the sense that there are numerous countries besides Cuba whose governments are less than democratic, to put it nicely, and have less than stellar human rights records, yet the US still trades with and has full diplomatic relations with those countries (the owner of this very YouTube channel being a prime example).

  2. The Soviet Union didn't get "tired of supporting [Cuba]". It stopped doing so because (a) the USSR dissolved and (b) the economic downturn afterwards forced Russia to cut back on foreign expenditures.
