  7.  @niccolomachiavelli8763  Even if Prince Philip wasn't the Queen's husband, just the fact that he's a World War II vet would merit more than "just any funeral". However, viruses don't give a flip whether the deceased is the "third most important guy in Britain" or a window washer, so the UK government set rules for how many people can attend funerals and, as far as I know, the Royal Family is planning on adhering to it.

  11. Harry isn't abdicating the throne since he's not the current monarch. Harry was allowed to marry Meghan without any (public) fuss from the Establishment of the day. Meghan is HRH the Duchess of Sussex. The Duchess of Windsor was never granted that style. If Harry and Meghan's living arrangements go according to their plan, they won't need to have the current monarch's permission to travel back to the UK or risk losing their stipend. In what way is the Sussexes' situation the same as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor?
