  1. It's not the business of the US specifically, true. However, as a member of NATO, it does have the right (along with any other member) to bring up concerns that a fellow member may not be fulfilling an agreement.

  2. I was under the impression that just about any embassy diplomat, never mind an ambassador, can't be kicked out of a country unless he / she was accused of serious crimes (e.g., murder, spying, etc...).
