Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Gibraltar, a British territory, allowed to vote in the Brexit referendum? If that's the case, why wouldn't the British Caribbean territories have been allowed to vote as well? Considering the mix of Dutch, French, and British territories there that do business with each other, the British Caribbean territories have just as much stake in the final outcome of Brexit as Gibraltar and the motherland.

St. Kitts and Nevis became independent in 1983. Just because the Anguillans didn't want independence back then doesn't mean they're going to feel the same way forever.

@HI-gj1qn My post wasn't intended to gauge how well St. Kitts and Nevis was or wasn't doing as an independent country. I was simply pointing out that Anguillans could have changed their mind about becoming independent themselves.

@JackSardonic Yes, I know that. However, when I posted my original comment, I was under the impression that the British Caribbean territories would also be negatively affected by Brexit (I don't know how it actually turned out since I haven't come across any videos or articles about the region after the UK officially left the EU.). That's why I was wondering why the people of these territories weren't allowed to vote on Brexit as well.

+hyndscs It wouldn't matter if Anguilla was able to decide on its own that it would keep the status quo with St. Martin if that overseas territory wasn't able to respond in kind due to instructions from France / EU.
