What people don't seem to understand is it's not the death rate that's the problem with this virus, it's the high contagion rate which puts strain on the medical infrastructures and other necessary entities (e.g., fire departments, schools, etc...). For example, let's say you call your local fire department to report that your house is on fire and the dispatcher tells you that most of the fire fighters are either ill or in quarantine and the remainder are on other calls. You may never contract COVID-19, but you could fall victim to it anyway.
