The announcement was a tad melodramatic.
1
Especially those who are British.

Perhaps a VR exhibit could be set up that would simulate going out onto the balcony.

Which future king? William or George?
1
After Charles, there are nine people in line for the throne before Edward (William, George, Charlotte, Louis, Harry, Archie, Andrew, Beatrice, and Eugenie).

The UK officially left the EU at 11 PM, January 31, 2020. Only about eight hours ago at the time I'm posting this.

More than likely, O'Neill will simply stand and not sing.

Where was Ukraine mentioned in this video?

@mscott3918 I doubt your doubt. The Queen isn't going to want to be seen as vindictive.
1
Based on how long his parents lived, I'm predicting a reign of 20-25 years for Charles.
1
Unfortunately, since Trump is President, he has to be watched. Not unlike having to watch a toddler who's holding matches in a room full of gasoline.
1
Hasn't every Prime Minister been "unelected" in the sense that the British voters have never cast a vote for a specific person to hold that office?
1
I think that was tried before in 1861. It didn't end well for those seceding states.
1
@saramoreno6575 And how does that fact negate my original post?
1
The UK is a constitutional monarchy, not an absolute one. The UK monarch doesn't have the power to remove MPs from Parliament. In fact, the last one that tried to interfere in Parliament to that degree literally lost his head (and, ironically, was also named Charles).

The cats don't have owners, they're feral.
1
I'd rather be overrun with cats than people who drag politics into an apolitical conversation.
1
I've said for ages that a decently run supermarket is always a solid investment because no matter what the economy is like, people still have to eat. They may be buying less expensive products and fewer of them, but they're still buying.

On what grounds?
1
When I hear the word, "landslide", in connection with a Presidential election, I think of Reagan's slaughter of Mondale back in 1984 (525-13 Electoral College votes). Trump did lose, but compared to 1984, it wasn't by a landslide.

I don't think anyone is proposing that only the history of Black people in the UK be taught.
1
about 1:55 -- I'm American, so forgive my ignorance, but isn't it redundant to put "MP" after the Prime Minister's name? Or is it possible for someone who isn't a Member of Parliament to become Prime Minister?
1
Who says there can't be both?
1
@bearstudio2023 When I mentioned "both", I was referring to a government that was both effective and fairly elected.
1
I thought Sunak was born and raised in the UK, so he can't "go back" anywhere else.

And vice versa.

Fifteen is what I heard.
1
@Interdiction The explanation for the 15 years given in the various articles and videos I've seen was that, under Minnesota law, Chauvin has to serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before he's eligible for parole.
1
The first one might happen if necessary to appease some factions, but why would the Irish flag and national anthem need to be changed if Northern Ireland reunites with the Republic?

Who? The pumpkin?
1
Correct me if I'm wrong, but no British voter has ever cast a vote for a specific individual to hold the office of Prime Minister, right?
1
@gabrielc1989w British voters directly elect Members of Parliament. Whichever political party ends up with the most seats is formally asked by the monarch to form a government and the leader of that party becomes the Prime Minister.

Trump was impeached by the House. Then the Senate "tried" him and voted against removing him from office.
1
@MERK_U What does your lack of faith in Trump have to do with my original post?
1
From the official statement from Buckingham Palace: "While they can no longer formally represent The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty. The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family." https://www.royal.uk/statement-her-majesty-queen-0 It doesn't appear as if the Sussexes are going to do any "work for the Queen".
1
Yes, it was voted for three years ago, but it's only just officially happened.
