  1. Was a Brexit referendum even being seriously talked about in 2014? The referendum itself didn't take place until 2016.

  2.  @arfermo853  I'm not arguing for or against a new referendum. I'm just curious if there was serious talk about the possibility of Brexit in 2014 and if that influenced how Scottish people voted on the independence referendum of that year.

  3.  @arfermo853  Sounds exactly like what happened here in Florida back in 2018. We had a vote on whether or not ex-felons should automatically receive their voting rights back once they've completed their sentences. It passed, but our less-than-esteemed governor and legislature decided to be really nitpicky on what "completing the sentence" meant. Most voters understood it to be prison and parole time and nothing more, but the powers that be decided to have it include any monies owed by the ex-felon which, for many of them, is simply impossible.
