  1. I'm not Canadian, so please excuse any uninformed remarks, but the only problem I see with Canada having a monarchial system of government is that the country doesn't have a resident monarch. The late Queen herself had been quoted as saying that she had to be seen to be believed, so wouldn't it strengthen such a system of government if there was a monarch in residence, as opposed to one who visits every few years?
