It's understandable. I can't speak for anyone else, but in cases like this, where I didn't personally know the deceased, any sadness I feel tends to be for the family and friends who are missing their loved one. Even more so when it's a child or pet who has lost a parent or owner.

I believe I read somewhere that he was going to end up there, but what his exact role will be, I don't know. I can't really imagine that a dog with his training will simply be a comfort dog, though.

I'm so sorry about your cat. I had to have my baby Chihuahua (okay, he was 16 years old, but still my baby) put to sleep a little over a month ago.

@robertgraziano You're welcome. 🙂 And, yes, Sully is a beautiful dog. I read that he's going to Walter Reed Army Hospital to work with veterans at some point after Bush's burial.

Although I agree that a service dog can be both a service animal and a beloved pet to its owner, I don't think it's inaccurate to describe the dog as a service animal specifically. After all, that's what he was trained to do and why he was given to Bush in the first place.

@NeonsStyleHD So, in your ideal world, handicapped people wouldn't be allowed some degree of independence because seeing eye dogs, hearing dogs, and the like wouldn't be allowed to exist?
