So much wrong with that statement, I'm not sure exactly where to begin, but here goes: (1) To play devil's advocate and pretend I like your idea, it'd be a waste of time and resources to ask on a census since the information you want can be obtained from the IRS. (2) Non-citizens legally working in the US pay taxes as well. (3) What about children who aren't old enough to work? (4) What about older people who are retired? (5) Citizenship in this country has never been predicated on one's economic "worth". (6) Again, playing devil's advocate, native born citizens can't have their citizenship revoked and naturalized citizens can only have it revoked if they obtained it under false pretenses (such as not revealing crimes committed in the country the person emigrated from).
