  1. Assuming you're referring to the President of the United States, you do know who would succeed him should he resign, don't you?

  2. (A) I don't believe the Prime Minister has the authority to appoint or dismiss local mayors. (B) Johnson hasn't actually left yet. His plan is to stay as Prime Minister until the Conservative Party elects a new leader in the fall, although there are some indications that could be moved up.
