  1.  @chrislowe8746  But until recently, nobody could touch him because he was under the protection of the Ecuadorian government. Once that protection was revoked, Assange was arrested.

Oddly enough, what really grates on my nerves about people like Manning and Assange is not so much what they did, but how they've reacted to the possibility of facing the consequences of their actions. Maybe my school history books left out some things, but I don't remember people like, let's say, Martin Luther King, Jr. stamping their feet and crying that they shouldn't be arrested and tried for breaking the laws as they stand now.

  3. It's not so much the telling of the truth as how the truth was obtained. I could tell the truth about a local business bribing a city council member, but if I obtained that information by breaking into the council member's house, then I can and should be arrested and charged accordingly.
