Tell that to the people of Hawaii.

A good rule of thumb if you doubt what a national news outlet is saying is to look up local news sites.

Probably not.

It was someone hitting the wrong button during a shift change.

If that is the case, then (based on what I saw on local Honolulu TV online) the people of Hawaii would've been decimated had there been a real missile coming. I got the impression that not many people had any idea what to do and that included some of those "elites".

If that was the case, the people of Hawaii are screwed.

If you're at or near the point of impact, definitely. It's those outside the immediate impact zone that I was thinking about. I had been watching one of the Honolulu TV stations that was streaming live and the impression I got was that a lot of people had no idea what to do or where to go. Hopefully, this will be a wake up call for them.

+Marlene Mcgovern And you know that the person responsible did it on purpose to promote a social, political, and/or religious agenda how?

That doesn't answer my question.

The irony is strong with this one.

I'm suspecting that I was too subtle in my original post, so let me try again: I find it ironic that someone whose comments have obvious spelling, punctuation, and capitalization errors of their own is calling out someone for not formatting a title correctly.

It doesn't matter if you're a "major news company" or not.

I'm not making money off anything I post, yet I'd be too embarrassed to knowingly submit comments that had obvious errors, especially if those comments were criticizing others for similar mistakes. The schools where you live may have different goals, but I was expected to have mastered how to write basic English sentences long before I attended college.

Submitting a post that proves me wrong would be a more effective comeback.

You don't have to check your phone for these type of alerts. As long as you have it on, it'll ring or buzz or whatever when the alert is issued.

Well, I've never been to Hawaii, so maybe tourists there are different, but I live in and near major tourist areas on the mainland and I see tourists with their heads in their phones all the time. Makes me wonder why they bothered to spend the money to come in the first place. 😕
