  2. Sweet Girl  The Electoral College didn't "take over" anything. It worked exactly as it was set up in the Constitution. The electors vote based on who won the statewide popular vote in the state they represent. And, unfortunately, Trump was the candidate who won the right combination of states to give him the 270+ Electoral College votes required to become President.

  4. notcher bane  It happened last year after Irma. My neighborhood sits on a large creek which, unsurprisingly, overflowed its banks and flooded the neighborhood. The waters didn't recede for about five days. I don't remember the exact day it happened, but I was in the house and heard a motor so I looked out the back window and there were these two guys on jet skis that I recognized as being ones that the county fire department used at the beaches. They asked if everyone in the home was okay, I said yes, and they moved on to the next house.

  5. That's what I forgot when Matthew came through. I live in an older mobile home and I was worried that the wind was going to hit the trailer so hard that it would knock things off shelves, so I put a lot of stuff on the floor before I evacuated. Needless to say, when I came home, everything on the floor that wasn't inside a plastic tote was ruined due to the (suspected) foot and a half of water that entered the place.

  7. threeputt991  True, you didn't mention Trump's name specifically, but looking at your choice of topic, along with using the word "swamp" within that context, there's a pretty decent probability that you could be a Trump supporter. Regardless, whether you support Trump or not, the nonsensical rant of your original post has nothing to do with the hurricane.
