I don't like using self-checkouts. Part of the money I pay for my purchases is used for salaries, so if someone isn't getting paid to ring up my order, then I should get a discount.

@xNaeja Makes perfect sense to me. Stores that use self-checkout are saving money on salaries, so if I'm the one doing the work, why shouldn't I get some sort of a discount?

@dereknueveuno It's not the physical aspect of the work that I have a problem with, it's the fact that if I'm paying $(X) for a product when someone checks it out for me, then I should be paying less than $(X) if nobody is checking it out.

@rycekryspee3964 Although I hate to see anyone lose a job, that's not my complaint with self-checkouts. If I use a self-checkout, that saves the company money that it would've spent on salaries, so why not pass some of that savings onto the customer that chooses to use the self-checkout?

@lastspartan15 Why would I? It's not something the cashiers, or even the managers for that matter, have any control over.
