But he's right that, structurally, the US Constitution replicated the British government from the Georgian period - that is, the American president was made an empowered head of state, similar to King George III. Additionally, the senators were like lords - representing territories, not people. Consider that the upper chamber actually matters in the American system, because it was based on the old House of Lords - unlike the present House of Lords, or the Canadian Senate, or the Australian Senate, which are so many talking shops.
