  1. I have a decidedly not BS job, one that requires both skill and responsibility, and that is essential to many industries. It annoys me more than a little that my girlfriend gets paid more than I do to sit at home, answer a few emails and occasionally fill out a forum. I don't blame her of course, but it's a constant reminder that there is something wrong with a society that rewards non-work more than hard work. I suspect that many of these BS jobs are in some way a result of government. Many of them exist in private companies, yet often they exist because of government regulation, taxes or diversity quotas. I'd consider pretty much every government job to be worse than useless for society, yet the power of government is leveraged to force companies to operate in inefficient ways that parallel the government's systemic waste.
