I'm right libertarian, mostly because I think some progressive ideas are stupid, but yeah. Government can't be trusted to police its own actions. I remain skeptical that this committee will actually do its job of holding our agencies accountable. I'd rather see these agencies defunded outright, and the money freed up go towards paying down national debt and lowering taxes. But that's living in fantasy land of course.

@lennysandroff8168 There is growing genuine anti-war sentiment on the right. Of course there is the risk that the "representatives" will be bought out, that is always a danger. It happened to the left. But so far, a small number of populist right-wing politicians have stood their ground on a number of issues, although we've yet to see them make a stand on military intervention. Not that it really matters, all Democrats and the majority of Republicans are openly pro-war, it'd take more than a handful of anti-war populists to stop funding Ukraine and arming the Taliban. For what it's worth, I'm cautiously optimistic about the populist right. But I also recognize that their small number means they are relatively limited in influence for now. Also, if you're a leftist, you won't agree with all of their goals anyways.

@lennysandroff8168 Dems voted for military conquest too. Neo-libs and neo-cons are warmongers. Ethno-fascism? No one gives a shit about race in the US, other than the Dems who want to get rid of white people. Or, at least they did until the realize they didn't need illegal immigrants to win the vote when they can just harvest ballots. China is a threat, but frankly, we've got a more immediate problem of authoritarians in the whitehouse and congress right now. I think the word "fascist" is corrupted, but it's not entirely wrong. They act like fascists, or socialists of some kind. They want to take away speech and guns, since those represent the main opposition to them gaining power. People will vote for socialism if you can censor the truth. Think of it this way. As we switch over to digital currency, they can make all of our money disappear with the flip of a switch. They can already do that with our bank accounts, your bank account is nothing but a number on a spreadsheet. When they confiscate your wealth with a keystroke, you'll beg them to give you more funny money, be it through printing more or stealing it from others. At this point, it doesn't really matter. Kensyan economics has already taken over, and it allows them to print infinite money, skipping the need to steal the wealth from the rich, they can just print whatever they need and de-value the money that exists, stealing the value without even needing to confiscate it.
