I still wish that Vivek was VP. He has a lot of good policy proposals, and he's a very intelligent speaker. We can still hope for 2028 though.

My dream scenario would have been Vivek as VP and Trump appointing RFK as head of a board to investigate the intelligence agencies for wrongdoing. Still, what we got wasn't too far off from that.

Trump by far. He's an archetypal strong man leader willing to bring a show of force to bear, and this gives him the power to bring foreign nations to the negotiation table. Hell, he walked into North Korea to negotiate with Kim Jun Un himself. He literally took a bullet for his nation. This man is a leader.

I really wanted him to be VP, he has many of the good character traits of Trump but without his combative nature. He's an excellent public speaker and has sound economic policy, perhaps we'll see him again in 2028.

Trump portrays himself as a man of the people. He's not the first politician to do so, but he's stood fast to his beliefs even after court cases and assassination attempts, and I respect that. I was leaning Democrat years ago, but I've basically realized that party should never come before policy. Trump has what it takes to be a leader, and America was a more prosperous place when he was president.

@DavidBoston464 Technically, I don't need actual policy, for Trump, I can judge based on the 4 years we had of him, something we can't do with most presidents. The 4 years we had of Trump as president were undeniably better than our 4 years of Biden/ Harris. The economy was better, we were at relative peace, and the president wasn't threatening his own populace with fighter jets and nuclear bombs. Under Biden... well... yeah. I agree with you that Harris has few actual stated policies. The only one I recall is "no tax on tips" which is a proposal she "borrowed" from Trump. Trump has outright stated that he intends to strengthen the American energy sector, increase microchip production to reduce reliance on foreign imports, to re-negotiate bad trade deals, drill oil domestically, and overall do lots of stuff that would lead to a prosperous working/ middle class. I actually disagree with him on a couple of things such as excessive tarrifs (which would increase the cost of import goods), but I have to admit that it's perfectly in line with his policy of strengthening American industry. As far as non-economy related policy stuff, Trump has made his position on many social issues clear. He has no intention of banning abortion, and he has stated his approval of IVF, even claiming that he'd sponsor programs for it, albeit this may have been a stunt to disprove claims that he opposed it. He claimed that he would ban men from competing in women's sports. I agree with the sentiment, but I believe a more "soft touch" solution is better, something like making federal funding for school sports contingent on having separate sports leagues for male and female students. He's also vaguely declared himself to be pro-gun, although his actual track record on this is spotty. Still better than Kamala who has repeatedly stated that she intends to disarm US citizens. There's a ton of stuff I could go over, but I hope this answers your questions.

@Zarozian It seems like your scenario with RFK might just happen. I'm not really sure where Vivek is going to fit in, but I suppose we'll see. Not a bad turnout overall, here's hoping that the elections go smoothly. Despite the media's claims of security, I'm really not confident in our elections with all the early voting and inevitable delays that will happen post election day. Honestly, I think whoever wins, the other side will be suspicious.

@jcc1095 I agree about Vance. I was disappointed to hear it wasn't Vivek at first, but after learning more about him, I have to admit he's pretty good. Here's hoping Trump appoints Vivek somewhere important where he can make a difference behind the scene, maybe do the same with RFK. Ideally RFK would lead some kind of investigation into wrongdoing by federal law enforcement, and Vivek would be Trump's economic advisor.

@BobDylan-k5x I'm kind of lukewarm on Desantis. He seems to be doing good as governor of Florida, but I don't think he has the charisma to be president. Yes, policy is more important, but charisma is still a factor, and there are better options who have both policy and charisma. Vivek, Gabbard, Vance and Larry Elder would all be better choices I think.

When Trump literally took a bullet for America, that was the moment when the narrative was written. It can't be anyone else but him. He is the leader America needs. He's not a flawless person, and a year ago he was only my 2nd choice. But he has the strength of character to lead us through these difficult times.

@nefarioussagittarius8906 I like Vivek and Tulsi, but we shouldn't overlook Larry Elder either. That guy has both decent policy and great charisma. He could be presidential material.

I agree. I was already probably going to go for Trump anyways, but the blatant hypocrisy of the Democrats calling him a threat to democracy when they subverted the outcome of their own primary election is crazy to me. It's like they're projecting all of the bad things they do onto their opponents.

American politics is in a dangerous state right now. I pretty much expect to see mass riots within less than a year, and I'm guessing there are coin flip odds we have some kind of civil conflict within a decade. Hopefully I'm wrong on both, but we'll see.

I've always said that the US media is no different from state run media like Russia or China has. People think I'm crazy for saying that, but the US does not have a free press. Many ideas are soft-censored by corporations on behalf of the Democrats.

Trump tries to appeal to working people like myself. A lot of people don't like his additude, but we already had 4 years of Trump and 4 of Biden/ Harris, and it's not hard to see which was better for most Americans.

@TS-dd6yd It's tempting to think that, but honestly, he was pretty bad in his own right. Maybe he wasn't downright malicious, but he was weak and feeble, and his lack of strength really put the US in a weak position on the world stage. A strong leader may have prevented the Ukraine war from ever happening. I don't really blame him, he should have just been put in a nursing home to live out his days in peace, instead, they dragged him into office to use as a puppet.

I actually like all three of the other candidates you mentioned, especially Vivek. I'm kind of disappointed that Trump didn't make Vivek his VP, but I understand why he didn't. Vivek is in many ways, just a mini Trump, and he wanted to appeal to a slightly different demographic with Vance. I was kind of lukewarm on Trump for a while, but sewing him stand strong in the face of charged attacks via the courts and multiple assassins showed me that Trump has a strong character that I haven't given him credit for. He has what it takes to be a leader, and I fully support him.

People don't realize how many people aren't party aligned. I may lean right, but I'm certainly no Republican. The American people are a diverse bunch with many varying needs, and we all should have our voices heard.

Vivek was my 1st choice and RFK was my 3rd. With how things played out though, it really couldn't have been anyone other than Trump. He may be flawed, but he took a bullet for what he believed in and kept going. He has what it takes to be a leader.

The deep state isn't a conspiracy theory, it's been the status quo for decades. People should get to choose their leaders in a democracy, and having thousands of nameless appointed bureaucrats running things takes power away from the people.
