  1. 20mm is pretty small for a grenade. The blast effect would be anemic. The only reason the 25mm was competitive with the 40 is because of the airburst projectiles. Keep in mind, volume is determined by every dimension, not just diameter. The stuff they taught you in high school math class should inform you that a 20mm round will be less than half as powerful as a 40mm round, with a correspondingly smaller kill radius.
