i've lied to plenty of people when i told them that i loved them. i thought it was best for them if they thought that was the truth. in reality, i just felt bad for them because they were miserable in their lives. one of two i ever truly loved committed suicide because i ignored them, choosing alone time over being there for them when they desperately needed me to. i abandoned my family, my money, most of my material possessions and all of my friends to move thousands of miles and get with a place with someone who i did not love and who would squander every chance i tried to give them in life. arguably more stupid than cruel. i used to hurt people for fun. now i enjoy being hurt, and seek out someone willing to do so even if i am in a relationship if that someone is unwilling to hurt me. i try to get their consent to do so, but will seek out a sadist without my partner's approval if necessary. i am a conditioned partial sociopath, and have a reduced capacity for empathy. i know enough to realize that our lives are statistically meaningless.
