  1. My ex occasionally sent me porn when we were together. They continued to do so after we split up. We split up for reasons completely unrelated to porn. Maybe couples should watch porn together more often, it might help them get a feel for what each other are looking for or would like to try.

  2. I'm already in the middle. I'm a little bit racist, and offensive in general. I use the word retard to refer to the mentally impaired, not as an insult. Well, mostly myself. I don't hate other races/ gender/ religon,/ whatever, I'm just tired of having to constantly self censor because everything is a slur these days.

  5. There are a lot of things people can get addicted to, no point in trying to ban them all. Not that bans work anyways. If you're really in favor of regulation, regulate the producer for using predatory practices rather than the consumer.

  9. That's actually a fair point. I have lots of concerns about not being "good enough" for my partner, although porn was never a factor.

  11. Educate, don't shelter. Yeah, don't enable, but it's going to be a lot more damaging when they invariably discover this stuff on their own, and aren't introduced to it in a responsible way. And yeah, 8 is too young for porn by a mile, but maybe not for education.

  12.  @Cherryripe25  Yeah, porn can cause that. I have low confidence, and I can't blame that on porn. Lack of confidence, depression, mental disorders, addiction... you can blame them to outside factors which may indeed contribute to them, but the core issues lie with one's self. I just don't like that some people want to ban everything that could be considered addictive or dangerous. Not everyone wants to, but some people use other people's struggle with insert issue here to call for increase regulation or the outright banning of an item/ activity. I can see how porn would create certain expectations for women of course, but I don't think the expectations being creative are any less potentially harmful to men. We need to recognize that porn is, essentially, fiction. Sex doesn't work the way it does in porn, and not enough people realize that.
