  7. Saying that it's always wrong to unalive someone else isn't a feature of deontology, it's a feature of bad ideology. A deontologist with a sane and well developed moral code will have the proper carveouts to allow unaliving someone in emergencies or to preserve life. Furthermore, a sufficiently sophisticated code could see this used as a means to balance the scales of cosmic justice so to speak. Practically every society in history has had the unalive penalty for severe crimes, and that includes strongly deontoligistic ones.

  8. It may well be the same pathway, but if a given couple mutually consents to a non-harmful act, I don't think it's morally wrong. Just... be safe about it, and keep in private.

  9.  @tann_man  There are few cases where having a complete, self consistent moral system is actually beneficial. There's no real pressure for most people to adopt this, and even those who could in theory have no incentive to. Even people often considered to be intelligent usually just go along with whatever the consensus is.

  14. I don't think you're wrong, but some women who have never been abused by a partner are into it. Sometimes it develops naturally. I don't think a given kink having dark evolutionary orgins makes it immoral for a consenting couple to partake in it.

I'm not very familiar with Nietzsch, but it has occurred to me that I do have pretty much my own logically self consistent system of values unique to myself, and ones that I do my best to live by. They're somewhat based in libertarian values, but different in some important ways. I figured I was uncommon for having my own, well developed set of moral values and ethics, but I didn't think it was that rare. I figured maybe 10% of people had a well developed set of rules for life like that. I didn't realize how incredibly rare it was, and I'm still not convinced that it's such a rare thing.

They are completely incompetent, and the company needs to retain tons of American staff to clean up their mistakes. The non-brown Americans who they are trying to replace with Indians are the ones doing all the work. Let's see if this slips past the Youtube censor bot.

  24.  @giin97  I remember the Killzone games, the enemy faction (Helghast) are very heavily visually influenced by the armband enthusiasts, yet from a narrative perspective, they absolutely have the moral high ground. In practically every conflict in that series, it's "Space America" which is the aggressor. Okay, the Helghast commit war crimes, but the "good guys" of the series also VERY do that, culminating in the near total ecological destruction of Helghan, killing millions of civilians and forcing them to flee off world. It's one of the extremely rare points in the series where the narrative pauses the "America, F yeah" energy to go "wait a minute, this is actually pretty messed up."

  26. AGI, or "artifical general intelligence", also known as "strong AI" shouldn't have these problems, hopefully. That being said, it's still limited by the people who program it. If it's programmed by low IQ woke activists, it won't be a good outcome.
