  1. I've long entertained the idea of more limited enfranchisement, usually by restricting it to people who are currently or were recently employed. I proposed that idea to a friend group, stating the danger of a system which allows non-contributors to vote potentially leading to a societal death spiral that punishes labor and rewards laziness. One of my friends with a disabled child thinks I am a heartless bastard now, and very little productive conversation was had. I need a better discussion group.
