wow... she's like the average voter talking about their favorite candidate...

Zachary Taylor that fat lady who had a strong opinion about buying a new computer despite knowing nothing about them. is like a voter talking about how one candidate in an election is horrible and the other one is great, despite obviously knowing very little about either.

Miciah Masters there are legitimate arguments to be made for having a functioning computer, but none of those arguments justify spending twice as much for a glossy paint job and an apple logo.

Miciah Masters not at all. I'm saying that she was inept. She had only the vaguest idea what was being talked about, and contributed nothing to the conversation. I'm also saying that while it can be hugely beneficial to have a modern and functioning computer, there is no reason to overspend and get a Mac, except perhaps if you have an interest in graphics design. If someone is on a budget but is in need of a new computer, anything with Windows is generally the better choice.

Miciah Masters ... She understands economics, but is completely unfamiliar with the internet and computers in general. She is literally a straw man character whose sole purpose is to represent the archetypal older person who is very knowledgeable about everything except the subject matter, but still tries to have an opinion when she is completely missing the knowledge necessary to participate in an intelligent conversation about the subject at hand.

Having access to a computer has allowed me to write articles for infrequent but not insignificant amounts of cash, and has made applying to jobs significantly easier, although I have not yet gotten accepted by one (although that could be partially attributed to the state I live in having some of the highest unemployment rates in the country, and a lot of competition for every job out there.) The apple fanboys and the clueless lady represent two mildly comedic extremes of economic and technological opinion. In their own ways, both of them are kind of idiots but do have at least some resemblance of a point, yet neither of them sees the whole picture. The guy in the middle was slightly less clueless and suggests moderation by buying a more affordable device capable of the same functions. All of us are objectively wrong and objectively wrong, but none of use are necessarily completely wrong or right from any point of view. I see it as a classic representation of the crazy people with vastly differing but generally ignorant points of view, and the one straight man in the middle who is, by comparison, the only one with a somewhat balanced and moderated point of view.
