  2. I like writing a villain with believable, maybe even selfless plans, but who doesn't even try to deny the fact that the enjoy every kill they make in service of that plan. They may see the enemy as a grave threat to their people's existence, and their stated motivation to wiping them out is to remove a threat to their own people, but they very clearly enjoy the destruction they cause, and love every second of direct combat they have with the heroes. Simply put, a blood knight with noble motivations but who enjoys the brutality of their work can be a hell of a lot of fun while not being entirely unsympathetic. Of course, they aren't really pure evil, but whatever.
