  1. In defense of Heinlein, he writes speculative fiction. He doesn't actually believe all the stuff he writes. Certainly some of his actual opinions work their way in, but it's not always easy to tell for sure which are his actual beliefs, and which are simply hypotheticals made for the purpose of the plot. Also he's a bit crazy.
