  1. I strongly disagree. IA is far too important to be entrusted to the government or to any politically appointed organization. It should remain a private project. Letting elected officials get involved will invariably result in political bias influencing what gets preserved and what does not.

  3. The best compromise solution is to reduce the length of time that copyright holders hold the exclusive rights to their property. Currently it's 100 years, 30 to 50 years would make a lot more sense. Intellectual property is actually important, authors need to be able to profit in order to incentivise more material to be made, but it never should have been a 100 year long stranglehold.

  5. I mean, IA is legally in the wrong here. Don't misunderstand, I think IA is extremely important, and I have no love at all for these publishers, but IA made a huge mistake here, even if their intentions were good.
