@shneekyshnek5045 What counts as exploitation? Is creating a business and employing people exploitation? You're making money off of their labor, but they're choosing to work there of their own free will. Should it be illegal for people to choose to work somewhere because a third party decides that they are being exploited?

@someonenotnoone No, it's nvmvr's logic. You need income. You can either work for someone else, or you can try to run your own business. Nvmvr said that he believes it is immoral for anyone to work for anyone else because they are being exploited. That means by his own logic, this is the only remaining possibility.

@someonenotnoone It's not my idea, it's his. I think it's perfectly fine to seek employment from someone else. I think the moral thing is to let people earn a living whatever way they choose. But socialists think they know better, and should get to tell people they are wrong for making a living their way.

@someonenotnoone Socialism is the idea that people should get free stuff. The problem is that stuff isn't free. Every single scarce resource needs to either be made or harvested by people doing labor. Socialism demands they hand over the resources they created for no compensation so that it may be redistributed to people who did not produce anything of value. There are only two ways for a socialist state to steal resources from the workers. These ways are theft (property tax) and slavery (income tax). Most socialists will openly admit that they need to steal from people with resources in order to make their system work. They will justify it by claiming that the people they steal from are bad people and deserve to be punished for the crime of having resources by having these resources stolen from them. This is how socialism works.

@nvrnvr-q3i "People who horde wealth" means anyone with any ounce of wealth more than their neighbors. When Mao's thugs went into the most poverty striken farming communities, they would set one farmer against another because one of them had the tinyist bit more land than the other, or because he had a fence for his land, or a slightly larger hut to live in. There is no bit of wealth too small to be claimed by the socialists, and they will kill you for it.
