  2. The government cannot be trusted to put restrictions on who can keep and bear arms. When the government is allowed to restrict rights, they will invariably use it to suppres anyone who challenges their authority. The government used permitting schemes and such to stop Martin Luther King from speaking.

  3. 2nd ammendment: "Shall not be infringed" CNN: "so mysterious!" The second ammendment defends the right of the average citizen to keep and bear ALL arms, machine guns, cannons, warships... there have been privately owned cannons and warships since revolutionary times. This push of limiting what arms people can own is only about 100 years old. People legally own tanks in the US. Funny thing is, there have been two crimes committed using tanks in US history. One was committed with a tank stolen from a US military base, the other was with a homemade tank built out of a bulldozer. Even if it was illegal to own a tank in the US, neither of the only two tank crimes in US history would have been prevented, just the same as how gun control does not stop the majority of gun crime.
