  2. I think he figured it'd be a messy landing with casualties, and people would start asking why he couldn't at least try to land the plane (the answer being the controls were destroyed by his reckless lasering). Their lives weren't worth the potential hit to his popularity.

  3. ​ @traders_pov  I'm pretty sure even real life special forces would account for that - avoiding gunfire around sensitive/dangerous equipment. HL just barged into the cockpit with absolutely no plan then recklessly lasered the terrorist when that predictably went wrong. It's even less excusable considering he was in no personal danger - the terrorist could've unloaded his entire weapon on him to no effect. This is why Stan calls Vaught "a day care dealing with spoiled children and dead prostitutes", even if you don't consider the human cost snafus like this are a PR time bomb just waiting to go off. Best to have those powers in the hands of actual professionals, as well as let their customers deal with any PR fallout.

  4.  @mrsunshine3693  HL could've saved everyone if he didn't go into the cockpit with no plan and recklessly laser the terrorist. Someone with actual counter-terrorism/special forces training would actually have a plan going in to neutralize the terrorist with minimal casualties and collateral damage. And even if that went wrong, there's no excuse to laser the guy when you know the cockpit's right there, especially since HL himself is in zero danger. At least then, they'd have working controls (and likely communications) to try and guide the plane down with. Homelander could not have handled this situation worse

  5. I mean it's kind of his fault, the entire reason that plane was doomed is because he recklessly lasered the cockpit. Also arguably a more forward thinking person would just take the short term PR hit than risking this atrocity ever getting out.

  7. He could've avoided that mess in the first place by not impulsively lasering the terrorist, or hell, going into that cockpit with some plan.
