  1. That's the paradox of power - the more you rule the less willing people are to question you and the less people willing to question you, the worse advice you're going to get. Shit like this is why Agrippa was so valuable to Emperor Augustus. He was someone who knew him before he became princeps and wasn't too starstruck to talk straight with him, so he could be trusted to speak frankly when warranted.
