@aluisious Fears aren’t a rational threat assessment. If they were, nobody would watch horror movies because outside an epileptic seizure from flashing lights, they pose absolutely no real danger.

@aluisious Yes those base fears make sense, but the brain often applies them in irrational ways, like a fear of flying because you're worried the plane will fall out of the sky, something that's straight up physically impossible in all but the most extreme circumstances.

@elih6087 if we’re talking objectively, you’re way, way more likely to die in a car crash than an airplane crash. Fear isn’t a rational threat assessment so people usually find the plane ride way more scary
