@montestu5502 Evolution is a fact, and facts do not care about your feelings. Christians were outraged about rock and metal back in the 50s-60s and 80s-90s.
2
@jgal6620 What the Bible says means nothing to those who aren't Christian, yet Christians demand they abide by their religion. You are the ones taking away rights here, not us.
2
@joeyzimmerman2806 That "short time frame" was something like 13 million years - which is very short on geological terms but still explainable in evolutionary terms.
2
Also the “negative” points he brought up are far more attributable to austerity and the yawning wealth gap than lack of public religiosity. Except he won’t dare go there because that’s dangerously close to criticising their oh so precious capitalist system.
2
Satanists are just edgy Christians. Atheists reject that dichotomy entirely.
2
@krashcash That's simply not good enough. What does "individuality" matter everyone under 30 is going to deal with a progressively dying planet? You're telling them they deserve to suffer just because you want more now. And I already don't eat meat, I also rarely drive.
2
Simply Reformed I love how you evangelicals resort to using “religion” derogatorily, sort of like saying “ha ha, you’re as dumb as us ;)”
2
Hope they realise Orwell was an avid socialist
2
The oil companies that fund Prager sure love "being taken care of the government".
2
capitalism has*
2
That's just flat wrong. Humans are fundamentally social animals, they absolutely do rely on and need eachother to get by.
2
schitlipz I don’t care. Please stop boring me with these pointless stories. I’ve already covered how the current climate crisis is manmade and not natural previously in this thread. And all people of faith, regardless which faith, are going to find an increasingly hostile climate far more persecutory. You clearly have no understanding of what your trying to refute, so I’d appreciate it if you don’t waste my time with a reply until you’ve at least done some homework.
2
schitlipz I didn’t say you were a homosexual. Seems like you’ve read something that only exists in your little mind, how very strange. Didn’t bother reading the rest of that drivel.
2
MrBobcattech I have, that’s why I know how it’s been intentionally distorted by conservatives to fit their own agenda
2
MrBobcattech none of that is government censorship. They’re essentially consumer boycotts. Irrelevant. And words, as part of language, do change over time, this is why English from even a few centuries ago is so hard to read.
2
Maybe you should work out those feelings, get some therapy dawg.
2
Sassafras the right engages heavily in post truth thought, they’ll repeatedly and proudly disavow science that is inconvenient to them.
2
G B Funny how you guys fear monger against Islam being an invading religion when you’ve been brainwashed into accepting an invader’s religion that drove out the faith of your ancestors. You’re a slave, I simply reject the chains.
2
G B I just watched a bit of that video and past the overly long preamble about his work I already have problems. He is equating the modern cell with the first life forms when it itself is a heavyweight of evolutionary processes. It’s complexity is because of evolution, not despite it. The original life forms would have been much simpler than a modern cell. This is hardly a new argument, nor an uncontested one. Could you respond to this rebuttal before I continue the video?
2
Those are both the same god you know.
2
Christopher You can disagree with Bernies actions, but climate change is an all too real threat. To deny that is to deny science itself.
2
The Outlaw Torn Climate change is real. A horse and wagon simply wouldn’t get Bernie around fast enough to do the campaigning necessary.
2
01100110 01110101 01110010 1. So the consensus is a conspiracy. Okay... 2. I said nothing about taxes, you just pulled that out of nowhere. in fact they’re a useless half measure that prevents real action. Seems like you’re the NPC here since you just defaulted to a preset argument implemented by your programmers. Swing and a miss. 3. My credibility is irrelevant, I’ve only ever referred to the work of scientists, while you seem to have just accused them of being in an international conspiracy with no evidence. All the work has been done for us, you just refuse to look at it because you’ve been programmed not to.
2
It also excludes non theistic religions.
2
Dan Templeton there’s no such thing as evolving “backwards” though
2
@0xredrumx078 It's more of a rejection of hierarchy, but okay.
2
@thomaslanham3863 I am using the word “selling” metaphorically. Don’t be pedantic.
2
@thomaslanham3863 it’s not a gift if there’s a price attached. You can’t accept that gift and not accept Jesus or stay in another religion.
2
@justacutie. Parler was well known for kicking leftists off its platform.
2
@TechnologyImpossible bro, two of the GOP's newest congresswomen: lauren boebert and marjorie taylor greene are qanon supporters. if there are almost no right wing qanon supporters. how'd those whackjobs get elected?
2
@TechnologyImpossible "huge amounts of prosperity" lmao if you hyperfocus on the stock market and not the average person then maybe, I'm sure Melvin Capital felt super prosperous during the trump years.
2
@UCyxG3OxiztpQcp0IT8jCmFg what are the wages for those jobs, are they livable? Also Obama got that number down to 7.5%, all Trump did was get that a measly 2% lower LOL.
2
@TheOzoneLayerHatesMe actually it’s just common sense. Employment means nothing if you have to take two-three jobs just to live paycheck to paycheck, which spoiler - most of the country does. Sorry thar Tucker or whoever didn’t train you to counter that point, not my fault you’re an NPC bro Also you completely ignored that Obama did most of the work getting that unemployment down LMAO
2
@Interceptor Probably too much spine, their vindictive war reparations towards Germany created a perfect breeding ground for the Nazis.
2
“Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people” - Karl Marx Of course people turn to an opiate when they’re suffering.
2
Nobody is saying that the world ends in 10 years, 2030 is the deadline for when +2 degrees warming becomes inevitable. Life on earth will become much more difficult at that point..
2
Fight The Bully! That sounds like a punishment, living well past the constraints of mind and body as you experience everything that can be experienced. You get used to bliss so you no longer feel it, and you feel less and less until you spend eternity feeling nothing, but still forced to live forevermore.
2
Fight The Bully! No desires are eternal. Humans are literally not wired for that, that’s why happiness is fleeting, we’d get used to it if it was permanent.
2
Liraz Ben again, some get as many shots as they want at success by birthright. Rich failsons can have a handful of failed businesses under their belt and be fine while a lower class person may have one or at best two shots and that’s it.
2
G K Please quote specifically where I, personally played victim. While you do that, look up the US wealth gap.
2
G K So no. You can’t quote a single instance of me allegedly playing victim. I even provided a direct reference to the wealth gap and you ignored it. It’s clear you’re only talking with a facsimile of me that exists inside your little mind and not in reality. Next.
2
G K I have not provided any charity in this thread. I’ve simply stated facts. Facts which seem to have emotionally rattled you and your ilk, which is why you’re getting so testy with me. Also, all the claims that soy feminises men are based on very weak science. There is no good evidence that is the case, and even some evidence to the contrary. Of course, these facts do not seem to matter, “soy” seems to just be an emotional signifier that differentiates you and your tribal group from the “others”.
2
I just don’t get why religious people don’t refocus and capitalize on the real advantages religion has over secular institutions - purpose and community building. All the moralizing BS just drives away young people, while the community would probably be quite attractive to the lonely and purposeless millennials and zoomers.
2
J K I’m pretty sure capitalists developed that - they want happy little wage slaves
2
AbundantlyClear we were “expecting” a livable salary.
2
@007kingifrit If by “great” you mean “wildly unethical borderline child abuse” then yeah, it’s very “great”
2
@007kingifrit “Horrible things will never happen to you” isn’t hopeful, it’s delusional and blatantly unhealthy. What if something bad does happen? What if they carry that attitude into adulthood? You just gave them a maladaptive coping mechanism. And I’m pretty sure the threat of eternal torture for you or your loved ones is “big suffering”, i know people who are traumatized by that crap.
2
@aidenaune7008 remind me - what happens after judgement day?
2
@jondelong7567 Right. Just like how I can not pay the local mob boss' protection fee and reap the consequences.
2
@jondelong7567 It's more like the USSR sending you to a gulag because you disagree with Comrade Stalin's policies, except at least the USSR had the courtesy of giving you actual evidence for its existence. Oh, and I'm... pretty sure the USSR doesn't automatically brand you a criminal just for being born the way Christianity does.
