@JeremiahK I'm not denying the blatant monopoly that's the two-party system, but you have to realise that allowing the Republicans to keep winning in their current form is inviting disaster in every form, whether it be social, ecological or economic. If you have a viable platform that can actually pull the numbers to swamp either party out of the race then maybe, but that does not exist at this time. Voting against republicans isn't an endorsement, it's damage control.

@JeremiahK What exactly makes you think voting Democrat will lead to another Mao? Heck, the chinese still worship the guy but even they don't actually want him back. You seem to be implying some sort of intentional forced depopulation, that seems like a can of worms in itself so what I'll say is - there are ways to co-opt either party, if you put populist candidates under a republican or democrat ticket and run them in solid red/blue areas. Trump, if nothing else shows that populism is great at hijacking elections so with enough candidates running in enough areas you can almost do a soft coup of either party. It's not ideal but it sure beats complaining about the rigged two party system.
