It's obviously not 100% because people disagree on what's mooral all the time, but the basics like don't lie, don't steal and don't kill will usually provoke an emotional guilt response from people. The really cool thing is dogs display similar morals, although in a much more primitive way.

  5. +Brumbieman WW1 is a much better example of moral ambiguity I think, although there's no shortage of lies or lying by omission done by The Allies in WW2. A funny little example is the myth that carrots improve your night vision, it was a bullshit rumour spread by the British. They were shooting down German fighters left and right because of this technology, so they just claimed their pilots ate a shit-ton of carrots which gave them night vision to keep their newly developed radars under wraps. After the war it just kind of stuck and not enough people really bothered to correct it.
