The way I see it, there's four outcomes that can come from this: 1. It's all true and becomes a gigantic scandal for crypto. 2. It's a ploy to infect as many crypto-adjacent people with malware as possible. 3. It's just a prank bro, the zip files got a rick roll or some shit. 4. Nothing happens, dude just wanted to make a quick buck manipulating the crypto market then bounce. 3 of those 4 potential outcomes would be very fun to watch play out, idk about you but I like them odds.

IMO he could probably get his advertisers back just by shutting his trap for a while and letting things blow over, but he's just too much of an attention whore to do that. It's incredible how stupid he actually is.
1
I'm unfortunately forced to buy Apple as they're seemingly the only company that makes decent 3.5mm jack earphones that don't have that godawful rubber seal design for a decent price.
1
@Dommifax I have the opposite problem - the rubber seal earphones always fall out of my ears no matter what, and they seem super gross. I don't want anything that isn't sound or a liquid going that far in my ear.
1
Honestly the AKT stuff is more likely to bring him down than this. I've noticed that youtubers with large children audiences tend to be untouchable, because their audience is too young to notice or care. The only scandals that actually hurt them are ones that directly involve children.

@helios4753 painting is largely obsolete yet people still do it.
1
Jimmy made the classic blunder of not getting dirt on his employees during their induction. That's what scientology does.
1
As infuriating as it is to see these famous people propagate this scam, the tweet replies make a hilarious read of shills desperate frantically their even more worthless NFTs hoping to get the celeb or some of their fans to buy in.
1
As much as I dislike Elon as a carny grifter, hurting Twitter is always a W in my books.

I feel like there's some truth to the effectiveness - there's no way they could sustain businesses for very long if advertising wasn't at least somewhat effective. My theory is that our current media landscape is so utterly saturated with ads that people are increasingly able to just tune them out or ignore them, because they kinda have to. The intelligent solution would be to simply scale back the amount of ads we see, but there is no short term business incentive to do that - the big tech companies rely on that sweet, sweet ad revenue and no individual company would willingly scale back their marketing just to benefit the larger attention economy. As the yields on traditional ads increasingly dry up, platform providers like Google have to make ads more and more unavoidable just to keep the profits going - which makes users even more suspicious which makes them clamp down even harder. I think this situation has to come to a head eventually - either they degrade their service so much that the alternative platforms become competitive even with fewer resources, or people get so fed up that the government starts nationalising these platforms or they start regulating/breaking up these corporations.

...he's literally selling brain chips, stated he wants human drivers off the road so self-driving cars will take off and marketed his EVs as a way to reduce carbon emissions. also he's openly censored twitter on request for authoritarian governments. he's everything you should hate in a billionaire, but don't because he says things you like.
1
Personally I’d think it’d be funnier to use the rest of the money to humiliate him in every legal way possible but I can’t argue against doing some good for the world in the form of charity
1
Depending on your definition, most people haven't tasted "real" apples, considering the ones you buy in supermarkets are the product of artificial selection lol
1
I always end up putting a case around it so it'll actually survive a drop anyway.
1
IMO the only valid response to these people should be to grab their phones and (youtube keeps filtering word I want to use) disable them. Sure, they can buy another one but if it keeps happening that means their operating costs go up by about 700-1000 bucks every stream, which can end at any moment if someone smashes their phone.
1
Between NFTs, crypto and this, Silicon Valley seems determined to sell me on the virtues of bullying.
1
To be fair that's probably been true of the urban poor for like centuries if not millennia.
1
I'm so fucking sick of seeing this rat on Twitter.
1
I type my home servers IP address because I’m too cheap to get a domain lol
1
That's incredible, he's offloading his previous scam by basically trying to pump and dump Twitter. Dude's a fucking grade-A carny.
1
@FullMoonOctober I think that's too far tbh. Saying hyperbolic stufflike this just adds to the noise, and there's literally no reason to when what we have already is plenty damning enough.
1
@feliceabbondante5183 Same reason corporations routinely do horrible shit: money. He didn't post the video because it was never completed.
1
@feliceabbondante5183 That probably would've cost money he didn't want to spend. Again, I'm not defending him, this is pretty vile either way, but there's literally no reason to make stuff up.
1
@feliceabbondante5183 there's more costs in production than just raw materials. if they were to fake it they'd have to script it out, hire a new person, get them NDA'd, and probably a bunch of other stuff. And time is money, from a cynical financial perspective, he likely just considered the project a write-off and moved on to other things.
1
@feliceabbondante5183 I understand perfectly what we're talking about, but you don't have to be a literal sadist to do atrocious things to other people. History is littered with examples of that.
1
@louyou6614 they're not 100% trustworthy, it's just they have the resources and connections to do real journalism, and there's very little incentive for them to lie about this.
1
@tarektechmarine8209 real generous to assume I view him as the devil. He’s a glorified carny that sells technofuturistic snake oil.
1
@RozArialind Thats pretty fucked up, but my point stands. Only thing I'd add is more severe punishments for proven false accusers.
1
I could be wrong but I doubt it. He seems more like a soulless clout goblin than anything else.
1
All that time and money Mr Beast is spending could’ve been used to hire Colleen Ballinger and make a fire ukelele video. Hell he could rent out a train and have a literal Toxic Gossip Train 🚂
1
@Matthew Mitchell That'd genuinely be funny.
1
@famimame to be fair most of his audience is children who would've just barely began to touch history lessons, let alone actually understand them.
1
@StarFoxZX315 Granted, he did leave enough breadcrumbs to be found, all someone with ill intent would have to do is find people in the crypto scene who they know have a terminal illness, which would probably point him out instantly if he was stupid enough to mention it to them. TOR fundamentally has to be untraceable for everyone or it's useless. Governments rely on it just as much, if not more than private citizens, and even if it wasn't if he posted it on a fresh laptop at a public library, preferrably one relatively far from where he lives, that wouldn't narrow down the search much at all.
1
I would argue that bad or inappropriate tools stifle creativity. I still remember the numerous times I've tried FLStudio, being kind of overwhelmed by the massive library and unable to really make anything as a result. I would argue that FLStudio is probably an inappropriate tool for a novice because it doesn't provide any easy in-roads to get started.
1
Probably another scam like the Hyperloop. The man’s desperate for attention, he’s not taking the divorce well at all.
1
@Kurai_69420 Keemstar seems like a belligerent enough jackass that if he was being threatened into silence it’d be way more obvious. He wouldn’t be as enthusiastic in defending Mr Beast’s numbers as he is now. His behavior to me speaks of being too egotistical to admit he’s wrong or he’s got some wierd backroom deal with Mr Beasts team.

1
@tkrampaged3622 IMO the best compromise there is to have “business” accounts where your real name is attached and you only use it for job-related stuff, and a pseudonymous account you use for your real internet activities. Of course any determined person could still dox you, but most HR people aren’t going to do that just for a job application

Maybe I'm using it wrong, but I've found AI rarely useful for coding. I know enough that the problems I run into tend to be pretty niche, and AI tends to be worse than useless at solving those problems. It'll hallucinate libraries, provide bad advice or solutions that just don't work.
1
@6AxisSage If AI has made Upper Echelon obsolete, then go ahead and make a replacement channel using nothing but chatGPT and voice AI. See how well it does. The reason AI gets so much disdain from artists and those aligned with artists is that it's laundered plagiarism. It doesn't actually advance art in any meaningful way, it just breaks shit and ruins livelihoods.
1
@6AxisSage How exactly are artists supposed to make a living if they don’t put their artwork out there? And how exactly are people supposed to find artists if no artists put their work out? If anything, that’d be completely ceding the market to plagiarists. You’d have nothing but plagiarists and AI “art” out there, and with no artists to train the AI, that AI would never evolve in style. You’d be left with a world objectively worse in the ways you’re complaining about.

I'm continually reminded of that bit in Aliens where Ripley says as bad as the aliens are, at least they aren't "fucking eachother over for a percentage"
1
@OmniDan26 I say great in that they actually made good games.

@JamesScholes He's going to learn that when it comes to censorship, the internet is like Orks - trying to fight them just attracts a whole lot more. Any joe blow shmuck with a spare external hard drive probably has those log saved. And them apparently trying to smear Dogpack? Genuinely the stupidest thing they could try, the internet loves conspiracies. Dogpack could now shoot someone on camera and people would assume it was a deepfake created by the Mr Beast team.

At this point, these scams are basically just financial Darwinism. The smart stay away while the stupid "invest" and get their money drained from them.
1
I almost wish UEG would pretend he's scared of a legal fight to bait Mario into a lawsuit only to turn around and mercilessly tear him to shreds. That would be fuckin beautiful.
1
@mortvald No dum-dum, you should be writing all your code in assembly.
