  2. Interesting, if not a little sad how little this village has seen change. I've always had this idea in my head where if I found myself living in somewhere this rural and remote, I'd try to use all the open space for something. I'd create wooden structures, make shortwave radio stations, some sort of wireless local intranet. Anything to liven the area up just a little. Maybe serve some public function, and be there for future generations to appreciate.

  4. It's more that Christianity's narrative works greatest ironically in an environment where it is actively suppressed. This is why its influence is waning in Western Europe and the US, where it's enjoyed centuries of prominance and as the dominant narrative. Humans are incurably curious, and suppressed knowledge feeds that curiosity well.
