  1. It's more that Christianity's narrative works greatest ironically in an environment where it is actively suppressed. This is why its influence is waning in Western Europe and the US, where it's enjoyed centuries of prominance and as the dominant narrative. Humans are incurably curious, and suppressed knowledge feeds that curiosity well.
