@joemama1691 Bezos isn't exactly wrong, though. While Mars is a much more hostile environment, it would be a wakeup call to these guys who think they'd be at all cut out for it, assuming a Mars colony was even feasible (it's not)

@danskkr Makes me kinda wish more people grew up on Gundam, where aside from colonies on the moon, most people in space live in self-contained space colonies at different lagrange points. Sure, that's more ambitious than what you're proposing but it's at least more feasible.

I feel like Musk got a free ride for so many years off most people knowing basically nothing about rocketry and self driving cars, so when they hear this being delivered confidently, they just shrug and say "Oh that's cool, can't wait to see it happen I guess" and go on with their day, while the gullible super-fans dominate the discourse and continue to glaze him up. That was my reaction at least. It's only when he started getting into things that directly affect normal people (politics and running Twitter) that people began to realize how full of it he really is.
