I think an important thing to note is that these accusations of satanic abuse, if anything, distracted from the very real abuse happening in the institutions we entrust with the welfare of children. It gives a simple answer to a question that requires anything but, and hurts innocent people in the process. Really, I’d say your and Dr Sledge’s experiences are complimentary - while he was a direct victim of the Satanic Panic, the genuine victims of abuse, like you, are hurt by this nonsense by providing people with a fake, albeit simple solution.
