  5. Wesley Richardson The government is supposed to make laws for the protection of the people. Banning relatively harmless drugs like pot and psilocybin does nothing, in fact the laws have fueled massive cartels that have killed hundreds of thousands of people. The drug war is a miserable, utter failure if drugs were the enemy, but a roaring success if the enemy were innocent people.

  7. Marijuana legalization should be completely apolitical. It makes literally no sense to lock people away for using a drug that is safer in almost every way than alcohol and isn’t addictive to boot. It’s a stupid pointless waste of money and resources to enforce drug laws that causes far more crime than it prevents, and only serves to make a select few rich.
