@MyName-cw4yr Christians believe the exact same thing, except that a god somehow magically popped a universe into being from nothing. Also that god is eternal, and for some reason a universe can't be.

@GamingxKnight America abolished it pretty late for a western country, plus the scale and brutality of American slavery (at least post-cotton gin) was pretty unprecedented. That being said, Europe was basically complicit in US slavery by hypocritically buying cotton from them. I don't think this is a reason to "hate" your country, but getting wierdly defensive about this only makes things worse and the discourse dumber. Slavery was (and still is - see US prison populations) an economic cancer that only benefits the rich.

I like to joke sometimes that Trump is America's first atheist president. He clearly doesn't know or care about the Bible, but evangelicals still lap up everything he says.

@MyName-cw4yr Current observations are that the universe is going to expand forever, though it will eventually become too cold to support life or much of anything. So it depends on what you mean by "last forever". Also, if all things are finite, it would stand to reason that god is too.
