  2. calo10able because the South was an elitist oligarchy. Slave owners weren’t a minority because everyone else found it abhorrent, they were a minority because nobody else could afford the massive plantations the oligarchs held.

  3. calo10able The slave owners were a symptom of a much larger problem happening in the south, the reduction of black people to chattel. Almost nobody owned slaves but everyone wanted to. This should be very simple
