  2. You're missing the whole point of the argument. If you "beat a kid up" you'll be locked up in exactly the same way as if you "beat an adult up". If, however, you administer reasonable physical chastisement to a child (not the same thing at all as "beating a kid up") as a means of correctitive discipline, you're moulding them into a better member of society.
