  1. This is how all "science driven by commercial interest" works: the wrong way round. The financiers state the result they "want", the scientists then adjust the models to "deliver" the desired result. Theories are supposed to be adjusted to fit facts, not the other way round....the trouble is, I don't think Boris and co are actually smart enough to appreciate this point....this is what happens when you have a government run by classicists, lawyers and sociologists with no-one who actually has the faintest clue of what "science" is all about.

  2. Virtually everyone has reaslied this. The government finds it convenient to hide behind SAGE's "advice" in order to pursue their real agenda of social engineering and taking generous backhanders from pharmaceutical companies.
