God, I hate this government.

Just some of the factors are: 1) Police scared of being branded "racist", and hence reluctant to carry out their duty. 2) Police worried about escalating the situation into more general rioting, which is a distinct possibility given the "identity politics" bloc mindset...and exactly what the organisers of this riot were (presumably...) hoping to spark off. 3) The bizarre notion that seems to have insinuated itself into society at large that ill behaviour from black people ought to be overlooked because they're just "levelling up" for decades of "white privilege" and "institutional racism". 4) Decades of largely consequence-free crime under the laughable name of "Liberal Democracy" (or as anyone with half a brain calls it: "breakdown in law and order").

Finland is the happiest country precisely because it isn't anywhere nearly as "culturally enriched" as other European countries. The BBC must not allow this fact to become generally known as it would debase the entire agenda they're pushing. Hence the deliberate obfuscation.
389
I dispute the assertion that Sasha Johnson is an "activist". The term gives her the impression of "legitimacy". I would characterise her as a "race-baiting rabble-rouser", personally.

No doubt, in the mind of the woman in question, it's somehow the UK's "fault" that Afghanistan doesn't provide her with the economic opportunities she believes she deserves. Hence, her sense of what she's "entitled" to from the UK is limitless.
197
I think Diane Abbott is entirely reliable: she can always be counted on to make the most absurd remarks, so long as they're framed in the context of "racial victimhood".
195
I'm already sick of the Labour government, and it hasn't even happened yet.
194
I can't really imagine that anyone would seriously want a degree from the OU (my dad was a lecturer at a proper university, and he rated an OU "degree" as about equivalent to an A-level), but just in case you DO want to apply to them, I suggest "identifying as black" on your application in order to make use of their generous offer from which white people are excluded. I'd be very interested to see how the OU would go about proving you're not black if you've self-identified as such. I'm pretty sure it would highlight just how absurd and hypocritical their double standards actually are.

I know it's hardly "scientific", but one of the (very few) benefits of mass, unregulated 3rd world immigration to the UK is that it has allowed many Brits to examine Sub-Saharan Africans at first hand. I can't believe I'm the only one who recognises profound differences in attitude and intelligence, simply as a result of my day-to-day observations...
185
With Trudeau gone, this makes Starmer about the only remaining Socialist leader in the Western World, doesn't it? Hopefully, the political isolation will hasten the demise of the dreadful British government.
180
I agree with the Blackadder theory of the benefits of mass, unregulated immigration: "it's bollocks".
168
Isn't it odd that whenever you see an early film from about 1900 showing everyday life on the streets of London, there's not a single black face to been seen? I wonder where the "20000 black inhabitants of London" went between 1800 and 1900...?
167
If some weirdo wants to pull on a pair of knickers and a Halloween wig and call himself "Laverne", that's his business. However, such a person is not a woman, and it's not up to the BBC to try and persuade us otherwise. This is one of the many reasons why I refuse to pay the licence fee.
155
Whatever happens, I dare say Starmer will be well behind the front line...
132
For those Irish who've decried "fascistic Brits" without really understanding the problems we face: I trust you're now starting to get the idea...
118
I'm not uncomfortable about talking about racism. As a white person, I have absolutely no scruples about saying that some of the most racist people I've ever encountered have been black.
78
I don't feel remotely "guilty" for the British Empire or Colonialism...which is why I think it's a utter disgrace (bordering on the criminal) that we give reparations (sorry: I mean "aid", of course) to our former colonies. If anything, they should be giving us money out of gratitude for dragging them out of the stone age.
72
People are going to start taking the law into their own hands far more if the police can't be relied upon to uphold it.
69
Terms like "Nazi", "Racist", "Fascist", etc lost all meaning over 25 years ago due to their ridiculous overuse and misapplication by rather simple-minded people trying to tarnish the reputation of those that disagree with them.
65
This incident never even registered with me, I'm afraid (partly due to the lack of prominence the media gave it). Reports of "black youths" committing the most appalling acts of violence on a virtually daily basis have just become part of the "background noise" of culturally-enriched Britain...
64
Exactly!
64
...Another "inconvenient truth" we dare not mention, lest we be vilified as "bigots" and "white supremacists"...
54
@thomasmusso1147 The standard "M.O." of the Woke Leftist: "Don't like facts...? Simply deny they're 'facts', and shriek 'racist' at anyone who disagrees. Problem solved.".
54
He's another one (of which there are way too many on the Labour benches) who sincerely believes that politics is exclusively about "being offended" and "shouting the loudest". Playground politics.
43
"Culture Change Required at the BBC". No. Complete dismantling and rebuilding from scratch required at the BBC. I don't think an exorcism would hurt, either...
42
Personally, I find that recent Polish arrivals have integrated into British society far more successfully than those immigrants and their descendants who've been here for many generations...the kind that make a point of reinforcing a sense of "apartness".
42
Any recruitment scheme that favours "diversity" over "ability" is intrinsically unfair, and should be scrapped immediately.
40
This is what happens when you have a police force that's been brought up watching crime dramas, and don't have the capacity to distinguish between "real" and "pretend".
39
The real tragedy is that we in Britain had it all 15 years before Trudeau came to power, in the form of Tony "More Damage Than World War 2" Blair. A great shame Canada didn't learn from our mistake... ...actually, it's a great shame we didn't learn from our mistake, since we've just voted in a virtually identical government!
37
The difference between mean IQ of various ethnic groups is self-evident (at least, it's self-evident to me from my daily interactions with people of different backgrounds). Obviously, I dare not specify the exact nature of those differences for fear of being cancelled by YT, but I'm confident most people here will understand and agree with what I'm implying as a result of their own experiences. To repress this truth doesn't help anyone of any background...In fact, I think "society" as a whole would be a good deal more harmonious if these kinds of differences were acknowledged and factored into everyday experience.
37
Why am I not surprised to learn that looting is the aim rather than the byproduct ...?
32
Did the police actually bother to ask any nearby members of the general public whether they felt "alarmed" and/or "distressed" by the presence of Tommy Robinson? I wonder how many felt "reassured" and "delighted" by his presence.
31
The fact that a number of "suspicious packages" have been found on the streets of Britain in the past couple of days and that "British made" (although they're largely French...we can barely make a paper bag in this country these days) missiles have been launched into Russia can scarcely be a coincidence. I'm really starting to question Starmer's sanity at this point. He's got to go.
31
FalconBlizZACKTV Now, why would you say that? Did you actually understand what I wrote?
28
This is why the notion of the "hate crime" should be abolished immediately.
27
...And the BBC actually has wonder why it's losing licence fee payers to the tune of hundreds per day...
26
At a place I used to work, we had a serious problem with someone who used to smear shit all over the walls and floor of the toilet cubicle. It was eventually determined to be a Nigerian guy who was doing it. Apparently, his religion "required" him to inspect his faeces every time he went for a dump, just in case he'd shat out the "second coming" of Jesus. Distressingly, this story is 100% true...
25
@AlexanderJoneshttps Some people are choosing "on our behalf" to import them...
25
I have no animosity to transsexuals (to be honest, I feel rather sorry for most of them), but I have a great deal of concern about the "trans lobby". Clearly the "activism" (ie, the opportunity for trouble making) has become a far more important part of the "trans" experience than the quest to redress any supposed lack of equality.
24
@sootito8278 I'm not entirely sure I agree. The BNP/National Front, etc were overtly racist. BLM and its (committed) followers are covertly racist: they whip up and perpetuate social division, victim complex and minority stereotypes, whilst hiding behind a mask of "righteousness" and "inclusivity"...or at least, they've managed to convince the none-too-bright "London Bubble 'Elite'" that they're "righteous" and "inclusive". Some of us aren't quite so easily fooled. This makes BLM at least as bad as the BNP in my view...and a lot more duplicitous. Having said that, though, Sasha Johnson herself is an overt racist...she got filmed making some rather "unfortunate" remarks, I believe...
22
The real tragedy is that it was obvious from a mile off what this Labour government was going to be like...and the drones voted them in nonetheless. I hope they're pleased with themselves...
21
While we've got people of "ethnic minority" heritage in positions of authority, immigration isn't going to be stopped any time soon, I fear...
20
Now begins the painful process of the British public finding out exactly what they've voted into office...don't say we didn't warn you...
18
Check out the proceedings of the parliament of South Africa...it's honestly like watching feeding time at the zoo...
17
The tragedy is that "The Nation" generally still has a firm grip on "the plot"...it's just the people who make the decisions who seem to be very susceptible to suggestion from the "woke zealots".
17
These kinds of incidents are calculated specifically to cause maximum outrage amongst the native population. It's an attempt to "goad" people into retaliation against the perpetrators as a means of confirming their own prejudices, and as an attempt to kick off some kind of wider civil strife.
17
Agreed. Historians of the future are going to look back on Right Now as a very strange period epoch indeed. Hopefully, it will be cited as a cautionary tale of what happens when a society declines to such a degree that it allows freaks to call the shots...
16
Tulip's definitely not smelling of roses...
16
The bizarre thing is that all this "surveillance" we're subjected to seems to have no impact on crime rates whatsoever...
16
I think we can be pretty sure it was written by some self-righteous white person with a degree in "Ethnic Studies" from one of our more "progressive" universities.
