I've no doubt whatsoever that this Ali person is going to do whatever he can to abuse his position of authority (and associated financial clout) in order to support "The Cause". I can quite easily see him syphoning off a couple of millions in Council Tax that will "mysteriously" end up in Hamas' back pocket...this is (presumably) why he's been elected, in fact...
