  1. What happened: 20000 years ago, though sheer luck, an Aborigine man picked up and threw a stick of a certain shape and noticed that it kind of flew in an arc and almost returned to him. Over many centuries and generations and through a process of pure trial-and-error, the shape of the returning stick was refined and the boomerang was born. What didn't happen: An Aborigine man sat down and considered the higher mathematics and physics of aerodynamics, reasoned that it should be possible to create a shape of a stick that would fly in a circular path, and designed and built a boomerang through a process of pure cerebration.
